Spaghetti Sauce Submitted by Joanie Finkl, a college friend of Jane Deane
½ cup olive oil
2-3 cloves fresh garlic
2 large onions, diced
2 (12 oz.) cans tomato paste
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 pound can tomatoes
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon red pepper
1 teaspoon powdered marjoram OR 2 tablespoons dried marjoram
Chopped green pepper (optional)
1 lb. chopped meat (optional)
Heat olive oil and add garlic and onions. Cook until transparent. Add tomato paste, sauce, tomatoes and seasonings.
Simmer for 45 minutes. You may add chopped green pepper and/or browned chopped meat after simmering. Pour over cooked pasta.
