Italian Coffee Cake via Jane Deane


Italian Coffee Cake
This recipe is from Antonette De Prima, a friend and neighbor of Jane Deane

Cake:
1 stick margarine
½ pint sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup sugar
2 large eggs
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda

Topping:
1 cup chopped walnuts
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
¼ cup sugar

Cream together the margarine, sour cream, vanilla, sugar and lightly beaten eggs. Sift together flour, baking powder and baking soda. Combine dry with wet ingredients. Put ½  of mixture in greased tube pan. Sprinkle with half of the topping. Add remaining mixture and then sprinkle with the rest of the topping. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
